Whether you are a client, an employee or a key vendor, you will find your exposure to the VANGUARD team to be a refreshing change from the ordinary! We are currently recruiting for enthusiastic, qualified, professional Property Claims Examiners for the 2024 Storm Season.
Please note these are seasonal positions.
Our Property Claims Examiners work with policyholders, agents, field adjusters, contractors, public adjusters and attorneys to administer property claims from inception until completion; maintain a point role, guiding the Insured through the claims process and reporting to the principal client as per contract authority, ensuring that all time lines are properly followed; resolve claims by denial, settlement or other as appropriate.
Specific responsibilities include the following:
Monitor pending claims moving each towards resolution Assign Independent Adjusters and direct their investigations; assign an investigator or Counsel to file and maintain constant contact with them, following up for proper reporting Provide coverage analysis for claims; review and assess insurance policy/coverage issues; recommend settlement and or denials where appropriate and negotiate resolution of files when provided authority Prepare Reservation of Rights letters, denials and reports for approval by client; compose e-mails, correspondence to clients, insureds, claimants, etc.
Keep Insured updated on claim, including initial telephone contact to reassure the Insured and to gain information on suitability of reserve, whether desktop adjustment is appropriate and if any initial undisputed payment is warranted.
Coordinate and conduct coverage / quantum investigations (with the assistance of IA firms/defense firms/coverage firms) from the initial notice of the incident to the conclusion of the claim Oversee the financial aspect of claim files to ensure vendor payments and settlement drafts are issued and/or required funds are collected from clients Set reserves to ensure appropriate values for each file; review and actively track reserves.
Ensure that all relevant items within the claims system are kept up to date, to include diaries, alerts, milestones, reserves and claims status.
Report timely to clients; maintain diary and handle alerts for claim files Advise Supervisor and Clients of substantive changes in the claims Input time for activities completed, create invoices and run billing reports in line with company billing goals Available for any claim/procedural questions posed by the adjuster/administrative staff Other duties as assigned.
Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
