MAJOR FUNCTION: Serves as the enterprise-wide manager for the Health Information Management prepping, scanning, quality control (PQS) and analysis functions. Has accountability for the accuracy, timeliness, and integrity of the medical records to facilitate patient care, billing, administrative functions, medico-legal activities, and research.
Qualifications:
A. Education:
Associates Degree or a Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college in Health Information Management or similar
B.
Experience:
o Minimum of 5years experience in an acute care setting
o Ability to prioritize concurrent tasks
o Excellent interpersonal skills
o Advanced computer and keyboarding skills with experience using an electronic medical record (EMR)
o Excellent management skills including employee coaching and motivation techniques
o 2 years supervisory experience in Health Information Management preferred
C. Certification/Licensure:
RHIA/RHIT required. Will consider RHIA or RHIT eligible with appropriate years of experience and certification obtained within 12 months of hire.
